The "88-storey buildings" of Kuala Lumpur

While HCMC has its 33-storey building (Saigon Trade Center), Kuala Lumpur has its 88-storey buildings (Petronas Twin Towers) and they were the world's tallest buildings, before being surpassed by the Taipei 101

My last trip to Kuala Lumpur was a good one with complimentary stay in the 2 bedroom suite of the Berjaya Times Square Hotel that is located right in the city's financial district and the Golden Triangle. It is situated along Jalan Imbi street in the Bukit Bintang area where the major shopping centers are. Berjaya Times Square is also a twin tower complex containing 2 hotels (48 floor) a shopping centre with around 1000 retail shop spaces (of which many are vacant). Asia’s largest indoor theme park, Cosmo's World and Malaysia’s first-ever IMAX 2D & 3D theatre are also found inside. However, the place seems quiet like a ghost town with several empty shop spaces & little patrons.

Not sure what the occasion was but there were fireworks near the twin towers at night

The "33-storey building" of HCMC

Saigon Trade Center, one of the tallest building in HCMC, is being nicknamed as the "33-storey-building" by the locals (especially the taxi drivers). From a lower floor, my office has moved right up to the 31st floor - office with a magnificant view of the city!

Cepage...where daily set lunch is like a mysterious black box

Daily set lunch at the Cepage restaurant, in the Lancaster building, is literally labelled as 'Black Box' on its menu, you never know what you gonna get (it depends on the mood of the chef!). Its atmosphere is a mix of modern western on the ground floor (where it turned into a drinking lounge at night) and indochine decor on the 2nd floor.
